A dark side is an attitude or behavior that doesn't serve us or the people around us, we all have dark side, whether we admit it or now... we have it. It will never go away because no one is perfect in this world. You can get rid of it but another dark side will take place. You're just a human being, even priests and presidents have dark side, no one is pure, no one is not sinning.
1. You have to know that it is a dark side. You have to know that it is a bad attitude and not contributing to your growth, once you know that it is a dark side.. you can minimize it, you can control it a little bit. For example, if you are aware that you are cursing too much... you will feel guilty by doing it, you will never do it in public because you know you will look cheap. Be aware that it is a bad attitude so you can just do it in places that will not totally destroy your image.
2. Embrace it. Accept that it is there, try to minimize it, you can replace it with another dark side. For example if you're so addicted in smoking cigarettes... you can replace it with a weaker one, you can replace it with vape or something that has a lesser damage. I am telling you, you can get rid of it but another dark side will come because you're not perfect. There will always be a tarnish in your personality. If you're lazy before and you want to work hard now.. you can do it but another bad attitude will replace your laziness. Maybe you will become impatient or maybe you will have lesser time for your love ones.
3. Don't be ashamed to admit to anyone. If someone asks you why are you like this or like that... if it is true then tell them that "it's just me man". Accepting that you really have a bad attitude and not being afraid to admit it to people will make you free. You will be aware of your dark side even more and there is a chance that you can minimize it or maybe get rid of it and replace it with a lighter one.
Even if you're the kindest man in the world... you will still have a dark side, you will still have an ugly attitude, you're just a human and don't try to always stay perfect. The best thing to do is at least be close to perfect, make your life better but don' feel bad if it's not perfect. Don't try to amplify your dark side, try to minimize it or replace it with a less harmful attitude.
