If you're not proving yourself then you will feel free, you will feel fast, you will feel invincible. It's a freedom that not everyone can experience. If you are not trying to prove yourself then you will not become shy anymore, you will just do it no matter what.
Competition will only make you worried and pressured. Sometimes you want to become stronger and better just to prove to people that you're better than them.
Stop proving yourself and just live your life, just do what you do best. It's not about being the rightest person, it's not about being the greatest. It's about being true to yourself and being yourself every second of the day without looking for someone to force you to take actions.
You will become more free, you will be able to express yourself even more if you're not proving yourself to anyone. You will have nothing to lose, you will be able to move faster, make decisions bolder and simply live our life the way you wanted to live it.
Because what is the point of proving yourself to someone you don't even like from the very beginning? what is the point of trying to impress someone who will not be even impressed at you even if you become so big? a hater will always be a hater no matter how big you become. If someone doesn't believe in you... you don't need to prove yourself to him because even if you are right... he will still find a way to bring you down, he will never become a fan of yours forever.
If you're not trying to prove yourself then you will never care if you will win or lose, and that's an absolute freedom in my own opinion. You will never fear losing, and by having that state of mind.. you will be able to perform better, you will express yourself without worrying if you are right or wrong.
You have to prove yourself to yourself only because that will make you push yourself even more. You have to challenge yourself to become the best version of yourself. Never care if they are pulling you down or not contributing to your success, because at the end of the day... it is you and only you who knows if you give your best or not.
