It's a waste of time to check what is your opponent doing, you still have to train hard and be your best to beat him. Checking him every now and then will only make you slow, it will derail your progress. Your focus will be cut and you will even wonder if he is already stronger than you once you see that he is doing good. Just focus on what you do and never check him, after all... you still need to work hard and give your best in preparation, what is the point of checking him?
What is the point in checking if your enemy is getting rich or not? are you going to have peace with him? are you going to borrow some money from him? It will only build a jealousy. After all, you want to become rich yourself so what you only need to work by yourself. Even if you check his status, you will still work on your own goal. It's a waste of time checking someone's work, if it is not related to your work then don't even bother.
You don't need to check your progress every now and then, don't check if you are doing right. Because even if you see the results.. you still need to work. Good or bad results, you still need to work hard. Because once you see that your journey is not that smooth... you will only get frustrated, you will feel bad and that will lead to thinking about quitting or doing some other things.
