Sometimes you still need to do something even if it looks like it's not making an impact. You have to do it for the sake of building a momentum. It may look useless, it may look stupid but you need to do it.
Sometimes you don't know what to do, you are completely lost, that's the time you need to do something, something that you think will somehow move you in your stuck position. If you will not do it then what else will you do?
If you want to ask a girl for her number and you are so scared to ask her, sometimes you just need to ask her something even if your timing is wrong. Ask for the time even if you have a watch, ask her favorite color, just ask something until you finally have the confidence to ask her number. Sometimes you must do nonsense things so that you will be able to build some confidence in yourself. If you will not move then you will become a loser forever, you are not born to become a loser always remember that.
If you're an undergraduate and you don't have the confidence to hunt for a job... that is what you need to do, do something even if it looks nonsense. Go to a company, ask if they have an opening job, even if it is obvious that the company is not looking to hire someone... just ask them. You need to do a stupidity to build a momentum. Don't look to get hired right away, just take it one step at a time. Just play with stupidity.
Doing something is a confidence builder, it is a momentum builder. Even if it looks nonsense... it will still help you in the long run. It is better to do something than to do nothing at all.
If you are pursuing a goal, let's say you're trying to become a great singer and your voice is not that yet fully developed... just join a singing contest. You may lose, you may look stupid, you may look trying hard but it is the first step. It is the best way to enhance your skill and develop your confidence. People may laugh at you but there is a mission behind that failure and that is to build a momentum.
So do something even if it looks nonsense, that is the first step to victory. For as long as it is connected to your goal... it is right.
